What is shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork that uses gentle pressure along the body’s energy pathways.
Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, it supports the body’s natural ability to regulate and restore balance.
Sessions are slow, attentive, and responsive to what your body needs on the day.


What to expect in a session

Shiatsu is received fully clothed, lying on a comfortable futon or treatment table.

Using hands, thumbs, and gentle pressure, I work along the body to release tension and support overall balance.
Sessions are quiet and meditative in nature, allowing your system to settle and unwind.
Many people experience a deep sense of relaxation, along with a feeling of being more grounded and connected afterwards

 A gentle, supportive approach. My work is guided by listening — to both what you share and what your body communicates during treatment.


TIPS:

  • Shiatsu is given through loose comfortable clothing, so no jeans please.

  • Refrain from eating a big meal before your session

  • Drink plenty of water after your session to help the body flush out any toxins released.
